Description:
The sense of smell has both an outer natural-sense, and an inner spiritual sense. The inner sense corresponds to the faculty of discrimination. It is developed through the practice of smelling while nose-breathing. This is different from mouth breathing, because the interiors of the nostrils also correspond to the angelic or celestial sphere of Universal Love.
The celestial sphere is the affection of good. It is all feeling. Smelling while breathing quiets the mind-chatter and lifts the consciousness to the rational or spiritual mind. In that silence the affection of good shines through the physical body and expands out into the spiritual body. We interpret it as the feeling of knowing, but it is the birth of faith. Not blind faith, because each knowing moment fills our consciousness with more light from faith.
Through the affections of love radiating outwards as faith, aligns us to the spiritual affections of good and truth. They are charity for all, and faith in humanity. This is the affection of the Brotherhood of Mankind. It is the feeling of mutual-love manifesting now during this Age of Aquarius. Each of us can do our part by bringing the energies into balance through meditation and by smelling while breathing.
Acknowledgment
I acknowledge the spiritual power of discrimination, by smelling while breathing.
Dedication
I dedicate this book to all who practice well-wishing to others.
Preface

All of my books are a rambling analysis, taking into consideration what is happening in my outer-life, in correspondence to my inner, spiritual life. This means that our mind-chatter patterns created by what we think and say about ourselves and others is reflected in the circumstances of our outer life.
In my inner spiritual world, I feel I am being pulled toward a sensation of Oneness. To avoid falling off that spiritual path, I am faced with dealing with my problems differently than others would.
It is no coincidence that the outside events in each of our lives, corresponds to our own mind-chatter. Those outside events reflect our hopes and fears that we have for ourselves and our future. By spiritual correspondence, those outside events are an exact mirror of what is going on within, consciously and unconsciously; worry too much, and our skin itches; bad-mouth a neighbor, and our teeth ache. It is all connected.
Awareness of the connections between the inner and outer self is developed through regeneration, the spiritual process that transforms the corporeal sense-of-self and enlightens the natural mind to become the higher-rational mind. Spiritual awareness is communicated through correspondences, the perception of similarities. As the thinking patterns are transformed, a new intellectual knowing is developed, enlightened by the wholeness of the higher-rational mind, into spiritual awareness, and a new sense of self in the infinite sphere of eternity.
These concepts must come through the natural mind. The energy does not move itself, we must want wholeness. If we do not see the connection between the inner spiritual-mind, to the outer natural-mind in the events, then the body tends to false assumptions that lead to early disease and death.
Although these aspects appear to conflict, essentially, the one drives the other. Conflicts produce an actual real spiritual power created in response. That power is the principle of sensation that grows our perception of the spiritual body.
The sensual principle at the lowest corporeal level is the spirit ruled by both good and evil. By using spiritual correspondences to examine the conflicts in our outer life we also find the solution to dealing with our inner response. As an example, my problem is the crows squawking because my neighbor is teasing them. Since, crows correspond to mind-chatter, I have found a way to reduce my own mind-chatter, while not becoming hateful toward my neighbor.
My particular issue, is further aggravated by the fact I am a writer, and need quiet. What makes me different from my other neighbors, is that they think the noise is normal. I remember living here ten years ago when it was quiet, and never heard a crow or seagull for three or four days.

The temptations that result from conflicts are anger, hatred, and jealousy. These are sensations mixed with falsity. They are not true, because we made them up. We create scenarios around anger, as evil sensations of repugnance. These are our temptations because the affections of hatred and anger then attracts someone to come into our life to block our spiritual development.
We must hate something, to get angry. To become hateful and jealous we need to be dishonest with ourselves. When anger gets couched in self-pity, it is then expressed as insecurity and revenge. They too, have a smell, just like fear. We need to learn to recognize the smell of our own fear and possessiveness, because behind it is our need to dominate. Otherwise, we have to develop a way to by-pass our mind-chatter, to reach a solution, only found in a silent mind.
I hope the solutions I found to silence my mind by smelling while breathing, will help you quiet your own mind, and resolve the cause of your problems. In addition, if you practice smelling while breathing as you read this book, it too will help remove the affections that block spiritual development.
Introduction

A silent mind solves all our problems. When the mind is quiet, it receives solutions intuitively. Spiritual development, results from a response to conflicts, because they push us to find solutions intuitively.
Conflicts cause anger, and it creates a sensation as a response. Yet, the actual spiritual sensation is what makes us angry. We are calling-in sensations by an attunement to anger. The sensual principle gets distorted and produces a response to anger that is reflected in our outer environment as combats. These combats are actual temptations that hound and test our spiritual development to not respond negatively to others.
Through a silent mind any sensation, even anger can be transformed to become love, and solve all our problems. The sensual principle made silent, transforms every sensation into an affection, and we become conscious on a higher level of perception. The sensation of lust, first becomes emotion, and the affection, and finally a perceptive awareness as intuition. We can unite any affection, presently used to look for love, into a spiritual perception, as the feeling of Oneness.
Everyone has problems, but this book is about the solutions I found while dealing with mine. My solutions are the result of examining our five physical senses by their spiritual correspondence. Each physical sense has a spiritual counterpart, an affection that can be applied to resolve any difficulty. Here is an overview of my situation, so you can compare it to your own. It is important to understand how simply a spiritual temptation can affect us.
This book, and the solutions I found, came about as a result of not reporting my neighbor when I first discovered he was a Peeping Tom. Intuitively, I awoke before sunrise, checked outside for the weather, and saw him in the garden across the street. When he saw me, he started throwing bird food around, so I did not think much of it. Yet, I was curious, so the next day, and went across the street to the same spot, and I could see right into his neighbors bedroom. He had previously told me that he had seen his neighbors have sex, but I thought he saw them by accident. Now, I knew differently.
I am using him as an example, because it is important to understand our own predatory nature, the sensation of a collective, lustful feeling. Our predatory nature can be disguised in our lusty need for shopping, eating, working, and dating. When the sensation goes unregulated it causes ill health, because our will-power, when contracting upon itself as the feeling of lust, creates stress.
Our ego develops through the false sensation of the will-power being personal, contracting as lust, until it learns to expand out as Universal love. It is felt to be personal, because of the selfish and predatory nature of our ego. The mind makes the will-power move the body, but the will power can also follow the movement of the body, such as when we are on a swing, or even flying. Our will power can be trained to move in and out of the body, to go to others when we love them. Its universal counterpart is the One Will, the self-less affection of Universal Love.
In Numerology, the word predator 3 4 7, is the same vibration as, temptation 3 4 7, and affection 3 4 7. So, you can understand how these sensations rule over us as sensual vibrations, in everything we do.
Let's examine the predatory sensations when mixed-together with affections , to see how they might express themselves in my neighbor's temptation combats. The real problem with him began when he first moved in. He had a house-warming party for about six people, but no one showed-up, so he threw the six bowls of pasta out on his patio for the wildlife to eat. We had seagull and crows screaming for four days, dive-bombing between the two buildings. In three weeks he had mice all over his patio.
Years later, because I had also seen my neighbor peeping, the situation became too convoluted to be resolved in any simple way. He began to harass me by training the crows to squawk by teasing them. He no longer needed to throw food out his windows, as he had been doing for years, now, he just had to open them to make the crows squawk all day. Even in the dark I could hear him talk, teasing them.
I have had to change many things in my life to deal with the bird noise and my neighbor's harassment. I have slept with earplugs for four years, and even changed my sleeping times to find quiet periods to write. My life was fine, and I was healthy, yet, this one problem with my neighbor was nerve-wracking. It was the only issue in my life that I was unable to change, either by diplomacy, threats of legal action, or exposing him as a predator.
Instead, I concentrated on taming my response, even to being woken up by the crows squawking and seagulls screaming for food before sunrise. Still, I was unable to meditate or have a nap during the day because of the noise, and my life got very confusing as a result.
Let me give you an overview of my personal life to explain why it got more confusing: First, I am seventy-four, but at forty, I took an eight-year course through The International College of Esoteric Studies, for an honorary masters of sacred science, and a doctorate of divinity degrees. The monographs were obscure, but they helped me understand things from a spiritual perspective. Yet, by taking my vows when I did, also put me in conflict of interest with everything I was doing.
To know the truth of how to live , but not have the discernment to follow it, is a devastating introduction to conscience. My midlife at forty was certainly a crisis of conscience. It was the most devastating time in my life, and the birth of my conscience. Few people ever develop a conscience. F or a male, it seems silly, because everyone thinks you are not trying to help yourself . For women, it must be beyond comprehension. My conscience developed after taking my vows, when I was unable to find work, or change conditions, and felt utterly helpless.
I had already started to take another course on the Qabalah, but now it began to focus on positive affirmations, and I realized just how depressed I was. Believe me, male midlife crisis can cause severe depression. Yet, because of my studies I treated my depression as spiritual temptations, looking to my thoughts and responses as the source of the battle. I was led by my conscience, teaching myself not to respond with evil.
During the ten years after taking my vows I felt anguish when I spoke, and worse if I didn't. Sex was a no no, as the guilt and remorse afterward made it not worth the effort. Despite what they say about a reduced sexual desire at midlife, mine only increased. Yet, because I was older now, and had a full sex life, I began to practice celibacy, but just to test how long I could go without sex.
The concentration needed to desexualize our own sensual response, is a grueling exercise in self-restraint. We must reprogram the lusty sensation, not only from our body, but from our mind. If past sexual thoughts and feelings of lust enter our dreams, it is proof that the sensation has become unconscious and more work needs to be done. The more we redirect our thoughts away from lust, not by suppression, but by love, we begin to feel younger.
Learning to be lovable without attachment, or to appreciate beauty without it making you feel inferior or unloved, leads to an increase in vital energy. To see beauty without it feeding our sense of lust causes our will power to strengthen as we begin to feel loved. Concentration increases when one turns away from the thoughts of sex. A study should be done having teens practice abstinence for forty-two days before exams. The result from practicing abstinence increased my concentration, and helped me perceive the inner sensation of things. I would not trade those periods of peace for anything.
As my concentration grew, I started using my mind more intuitively by doing business and personal development consulting using esoteric astrology. It allowed me to continue with my studies of the Qabalah for the next twenty years. When I retired from consulting, I started writing books and self-publishing. I think it was because of my vows that I had the energy, concentration, and motivation for writing books on spirituality .
Since my motivation for writing was not for money, I felt I could be brutally honest and say what I wanted without someone restricting me. If my motive for writing had been for money, I would have felt to be in conflict of interest with my vows. Still, I had caged myself in, because there is no money in writing, and the high cost of housing is the reason I have not been able to move. I might need to break my vows to survive, but I hate to lose this spiritual feeling of love.
My first book was a seaweed diet that could help end world hunger. It came about by trying to reduce my expenses by finding an inexpensive food to eat. My second book was also about seaweed, but using it for beauty-products. It came about by reading the patent documents for seaweed extracts, when I intuitively saw exactly how they were being made. So, in that book I revealed those discoveries to the world.
The last ten books I wrote were all about spirituality, but contain much religiosity. They were written for the priesthood in the hope of changing the intention of the church, and their understanding of goodness. The hope was that the church begins to take on their responsibility of caring for the poor and the homeless. Otherwise, it is the end of the usefulness of religion, and the churches will be converted to house the poor anyway.
Chapter 1: Animal/Human

All of my previous ten books on spirituality, somewhat came about by having to deal with the non-stop squawking noise from the surge of wildlife feeding by people in my neighborhood during the beginning of the Avian influenza. I have included these stories to help better understand our human predatory nature. Our problems represent the predatory nature that wells up from our own subconscious mind to block our spiritual development.
The main topic of this book is the principle of sensation. It begins as a physical sensation and evolves into a spiritual perception. As a spiritual perception, sensation is not understood by the logical mind, because it is an affection. Therefore, I have included photographs of trees, flowers, and gardens, to represent the sensual principle as nature's spiritual essence as an affection.
The spiritual essence can be extracted from nature by our admiration of its beauty. Our affection that results from the essence causes a sensation that grows into the perception of our spiritual body. The spiritual essence extracted from nature is the divine feminine as a feeling of goodness. We must be in the sensation of goodness to perceive it as a spiritual essence.
These books on spirituality are the result of searching deep within myself to find a better way to deal with my anger in response to people feeding the wildlife. I jokingly call them the “crow-people.” I estimate about thirty percent of the human population started feeding the wildlife during the pandemic. Every day, I needed a wire brush to scrape the bird-crap off my runners after jogging. Fifteen people in the three buildings next to me were throwing handfuls of peanuts out their high-rise windows all day. The squirrels, skunks, and raccoons were everywhere, and having five babies at a time. The crows were making nests in the trees of every building. As a result of littering, we have a new species of predatory “beggar” birds in the residential areas; and probably in every city all over the world .
This is important to understand, because during a respiratory pandemic signifying falsity, humanity did not attract song birds or hummingbirds, but crows, a predator. Again, we are understanding issues in our life and society by examining the spiritual correspondence to the predatory nature of humanity. Crows, snakes, mice, rats, locusts, spiders, flies, lice, and cockroaches, or anything that can harm humans, symbolize our predatory nature.
Even with the littering in my building, our previous building manager thought for years the tenants from the high-rise next to us were throwing food off the roof. She would find loaves of sliced bread, sausages, and pizzas thrown on the front lawn. The crows and Seagulls were constantly screaming. Eventually we discovered it was my actual neighbor below-me, throwing food out his windows, and using the bird noise to harass people. He would throw large sausages, too heavy for the birds to lift, so they had to fight each other to eat it. Once, he turned up his lights to attract the birds before sunrise, for three days to keep a tenant awake until he was moaning in his sleep to have him evicted.
Eventually, even Canada Post, and Fed Ex drivers were feeding the crows. I was surrounded by birds that were now all around our neighborhood. It meant someone had to go and get the birds, because crows and Seagulls are not in residential areas unless someone brings them here and keeps them here by feeding them. Then one day, I saw my neighbor coming home riding his bike up the street with ten seagulls flying high behind him and landing on the high-rise roof next door screaming.
Let us examine this scenario from a spiritual perspective, by imagining my neighbor is a little child again. The birds flying-high above him while riding his bike, must give him a lofty perception like the angelic feeling of a spiritual ritual. The sound of the birds screaming, must incite the feeling of a secret revenge, because he is falsifying the truth, harassing people, without anyone knowing. The Seagulls screaming, following him like pets must be a thrilling feeling for a child, but for an adult, it is predatory .
Soon, the seagulls and pigeons were everywhere, the buildings and cars covered in bird-crap. People were slamming car doors, turning up their music, and as a result, I began writing letters to have the wildlife by-laws changed. The process of letter-writing enabled me to transform my anger into zeal. After hundreds of letters of complaints, the wildlife feeding by-laws were changed, and now the new by-law officers, have to babysit my neighbors.
I will admit littering or feeding the wild-life, is not a serious problem, not like bombs dropping in war. Yet, when we can feel the hatred behind the noise, the effect is just as harmful as war. We are beginning to see how harassment and bullying are effective weapons of war. Our task is to not feel harassed in response, but to develop the courage and tolerance to overcome our anger.
As a response to the new no-wildlife-feeding by-laws, my neighbor was not able to throw the food out his window anymore , but instead started attracting the birds by the smell of it cooking. He would have three-hour sausage-cooking marathons, open his windows, burn the garlic, and soon, twenty seagulls would be circling over our building screaming. The birds soon recognized the smell, and he then had the entire neighborhood by the balls.
The bird harassment went on for a few more years, until one day, I noticed the birds vanished after cleaning my kitchen with ammonia and turned the fan-on. Now I could prove that my neighbor was also attracting the birds by using the smell of food. Thinking it was over, my neighbor, rather than stop, tried to accuse me of smoking in my apartment. It just would not end. Human nature does not like to be told not to do something.
Books take a long time to write. Yet, so do these kinds of temptations take even a longer time to work themselves out. My irritation helped me to write nine books over ten years. Even natural-temptations, such as mine, are mere irritations that do not end easily. My neighbor soon changed his tactics again, but this time he started to flatter me, saying I had the perfect body, and each time, I just ignored him. This is likely why the problem worsened. Imagine what women must go through?
Over the years, my neighbor would try to tell me stories about people he saw having sex, but I would change the conversation, and say, I did not want to hear it. I should have known something was amiss. Seeing him throw food-scraps by another neighbor's window, had me bewildered. My guess is that if he was caught on someone's property, he is only feeding the birds. Yet, if a couple wakes up at sunrise, they probably have sex, and he is there to watch them.
My neighbor i s not an unusual individual , in that, we all have someone like him in our lives. Look for yours. Try to smell them out . It is no more serious than catching a partner being unfaithful . The sensation of falsity will end all relationships unless the person is honest. Dishonesty is falsity, and it builds t he sensation that separates us from others. However, let's take a deeper look into my neighbor to examine his intention, by analyzing his first name using Numerology to understand what we are dealing with .
In numerology, his first-name adds-up to a 6 8 5 , the same as the word Crow 6 8 5, and snake 6 8 5. H e changed the spelling of his first-name, to a 6 6 3 , the same as the words Fear 6 6 3, Idiot 6 6 3, and Deviant 6 6 3 . Curiously, the only other word with the same vibration is Angel 6 6 3.
The fact, that the sensation of fear, or being a deviant, can also make someone feel like an angel is peculiar. It means that we can be together with just the angel's sensation of goodness , while not agreeing with their thought, such as by being angry, causing our temptation combats. Evil gets its pleasure too. This means my neighbor is not necessarily angry, but it also says he has not got a conscience , a result of a spiritual influx. Those without a conscience are somewhat immune to spiritual guidance, but must be restrained by external forces, such as the law, or even Karma.
Let us look deeper into my neighbor's mind-chatter, because it represents the battle going on in both his mind and ours , between our “inner-crow” self, and our angel ic-self . T he fact he changed his name from 6 8 5 to 6 6 3, is coincidentally signified by the recent court-case between Johnny 6 8 5 Depp, and Amber 6 6 3 Heard . We all start life with a similar predatory nature .
Anyway, I ended my last book, The Divine Human, with the concept that during the Age of Aquarius, everyone, both good and evil will be enlightened. I guess it will include my neighbor, because it will happen to everyone while they sleep. Everyone will be enlightened, touched by an influx of goodness, able to perceive the affection of Universal Love.
To be “touched” by the goodness of Universal love, leaves its presence in the body as a pleasurable afterglow. Glowing after love, is from the astral light filling our body with the feeling of spiritual goodness. It is felt as balance, but also called Beauty. It is the affection of the One Will taking-over the predatory sensation of the lower personal will.
The glowing light of faith that results from the touch of love, acts as a suggestion to give the courage to the law of order. The suggestion works both inside and out; on the inner cellular structure to cause healing, and in the outer environment to restore societal order. Courage mixed with the sensation of effort intended toward orderly arrangement, restores our belief in natural laws; and smelling while breathing produces the glowing light of faith as proof.
The archetypal concept of an imaginary heavenly light imbuing everything with divine order offers up its gift of courage. In the same way, by writing my own advice, gave me the confidence to ask community police for advice about my neighbor. I think someone came and talked to him, because it is finally somewhat quieter as I write this. Yet, I did have to stand up to evil, both in myself and my neighbor. We are all tested to protect goodness.
Chapter 2: Spiritual Endeavor

It has been a year since the no-wildlife-feeding by-laws were implemented. The difference in the neighborhood is unbelievable. It is actually incredible. Most of the crows and seagulls are gone from the residential areas.
Even the parks are quieter. The eagles have returned to some areas, because there are fewer crows to chase them away. I have never seen a more beneficial change to a city's noise-level, all because of the no wildlife feeding by-law.
When a predatory animal begs for food and someone responds they are pulled together in agreement. Now, with fewer crows squawking, my neighbors will also start to have less mind-chatter. Reducing outside noises are how we heal humanity, because noise represents the thunderous roar of greed.
This whole scenario involving the wildlife by-law is proof that it is not worth the hassle. The people feeding the wildlife seven years ago, are still doing it. It is disheartening to see how challenging it is for some people to change. I think everyone in my neighborhood thought the crows squawking at the raccoons all day was normal. Now, everyone gets to enjoy the quiet, without knowing why it happened. Similarly, in the spiritual mind, when one person follows the rules and sets into motion an affection of love, everyone else gets to enjoy it too.
Years ago when the no-smoking by-law was implemented, a couple of people at the beach got fined, the word spread fast, and everyone quit smoking. Yet, the crow feeders have been a much more difficult group to re-educate. It might be difficult to ever get these people to change. I think the penalty needs to be several amounts, from five dollars to ten thousand. That way, we can deter those who cannot afford it, and those who would not stop except by a huge fine. It is important to examine our personal problems in light of a by-law, because the spiritual path is all about following laws. Not until we understand these rules are for our benefit can we begin to approach enlightenment.

However, back to the Aquarian Age and its enlightenment, signified by the Brotherhood of Mankind. All of humanity will be enlightened by the affection of good, when the masculine light comes through the Divine feminine or subconscious aspect of the mind while we sleep and dream. We are lifted out of our selfish sense of separateness by the light, and into the Universal feeling of Oneness by those who have gone before us.
The “Brother” signifies the masculine principle, projecting the affection of love. It represents the spiritual aspect of mutual-love moving as an endeavor of the Divine Will. The act of willing mutual-love to others, expands the sensation into the affection of universal love; and thereby, both the sender, and the receiver, experience the same universal love.
Love is a powerful sensation when we use it with our will-power by projecting it as a spiritual feeling, or endeavor, because the affection of mutual-love lingers as an afterglow. The sensation from the movement of mutual love as a spiritual endeavor, corresponds to the “savior” symbolism of the Brotherhood of Mankind. Truly, brotherly-love is sorely needed on earth, right now.
Individually, the same concentrated effort, created from willing mutual-love to a friend or family, results in a spiritual endeavor, whereby, the sensation becomes a likeness of love in our own body. The emoting sensation created by the feeling of mutual love, starts as an awareness that becomes a concentrated sense of attention. To be spiritual is to develop the concentration to perceive the essence in all things by the use of attention. Keep in mind, this heightened sense of attention that brings things to life, is still only sensual truth, not yet spiritual understanding, and overcoming our predatory nature.
When the concentrated effort created from the feeling of attention gets fully developed, smelling while breathing stops all mind-chatter permanently. In that stillness, a sensual endeavor, as the feeling of warmth, begins to emote from our body. As we reverberate it out as an emoting spiritual essence of love, it aligns the alchemical “iron” in our blood stream, with the universal, sensual truth, light as a feeling of knowing.
The emoting sensation of brotherly love, as the projecting aspect of mutual-love, creates a spiritual knowing that forms into truth. By an act of concentration from willing good as mutual love results in its opposite, the feminine energy of our soul's response as an esoteric feeling. We could say, the receptive aspect of mutual-love is the “Sister,” as the perception of truth, the understanding of good that results from the experience of spiritual love.
Each of us must become familiar with these sensations, because if we allow our spiritual sense-of-self as a knowing, to lead the soul as a feeling, it is prone to falsity, jealousy, and hatred. When the feeling of the soul, leads the knowing of the spiritual self, it results in good-use.
The spiritual self, is a covering that cannot protect us from anything. It is dominated by the inner world, where both good and bad influences exist. Not unless the affection of the soul, breaks through to the outer spiritual self as love, is the protector revealed as the light of faith, when love occupies the silent mind.
By projecting or willing the affection of mutual-love as a spiritual effort, whether we are male or female, stirs the active and passive reciprocal response from the Universe. That reciprocal response of an affection that when received fully, clears us of our selfish perspective to bring healing and wholeness.
As the ability to form effort into an endeavor strengthens and appears to be everywhere as a feeling, the false habits of mind-chatter end. Thought, replaced by the emoting sensation of attention gives everything of itself. The mind fully attentive becomes holy. It emotes the sensation of giving of itself in an act of spiritual attention, by becoming one with all.
Spiritual attention is different from the distraction we encounter on social media. Distraction is time related, whereas attention is feeling-related. If you could disable the time and date on your child's smart-phone, including all the time-stamps of the videos and comments, you would soon end their addiction to social media. In distractions, we get lost in the appearance of things, including the sense of time; and this is why we are bored in mother-nature.
When we concentrate our attention, we are compressing thought energy into a center, and making it glow. When we let go of that compressed thought formation, it becomes a feeling that expands as light, multiplying and vibrating in every cell. This is how we are self-enlightened. The expanding sensation of thought, powered by the heat of love, comes to a fruition phase, its holy state. It is represented by the seed, containing both the masculine and feminine principles uniting to protect the one. The feeling of holiness is the spiritual light grounded by the affection of universal love producing a sensation like celestial charity.
By smelling while we breathe, our faith becomes the light as an expanding affection of love. It is the spiritual faculty of understanding truth by the cognition of goodness. Truth then follows goodness as the faith from our love. Smelling while breathing will achieve this, if you can remember to do it. Smell the banana before you put it in your smoothie. Or, smell the milk, but not just to tell if its sour, but to enjoy its goodness. Smell the goodness in life, daily. Make smelling while you breathe, a meditative ritual while you prepare your dinner tonight.

When the affection of love gets compressed, represented by a seed, the concentration of the will-power produces creativity. Creative-love is a mutual benefit, because it gets warmed by our effort of the will, by turning creativity into the feeling of awareness. Perception is the result of sensation, and creative-awareness is its light warmed by our love, when the effort from our will, becomes a radiant protector.
As we use our will-power as the feeling of mutual-love, by well-wishing in sync with smelling while breathing, the creative awareness develops a spiritual rhythm, represented by the pleasure of an orgasm. The sensation gets awakened by smelling, and develops into a deep rhythmic breathing.
By smelling while deep breathing, we can begin to feel the rhythm of the planets in the vital organs of our body dance and harmonize with the celestial spheres. The affection of the soul and spirit interacting, creates the feeling of the dance of life. It is the first awareness of a spiritual life. Yet, for right now, we are concentrating on smelling, not dancing.
After publishing my last book, I went several months fully believing that I would never write another word. The neighborhood had become more noisy from the crows. We discovered it was my neighbor attracting the birds by the smell, and reported him. Suddenly it went quiet for a couple of weeks, and I actually started to write again. I realized I just needed quiet to be creative. Perhaps everyone does too?
Noise pollution corresponds to both mind-chatter and crows. Crows represent the most selfish phase of humankind's evolution, and noise pollution is its reflection. To measure the quality of life, the first thing should be to determine how quiet the neighborhood is. The homeless even need quiet to sleep. Start by instilling quiet, and see if the predatory nature of your community heals.
We require quiet to concentrate inwardly. Although our ears listen to outside noises, the spiritual sense of hearing corresponds to the esoteric feeling of union. Our union with our higher self takes place through intuition, by the inner-hearing function. Hearing takes a sound vibration, and by turning it into a desire and then knowledge, it ascends into the realm of interior-hearing, as a feeling of knowing. Not scientific knowledge from memory, but the experience as cognition, a spiritual knowing communicated from within by the sense of touch.
Swedenborg said that all sounds take one of two paths, either the understanding, or the will . The sounds of speech take the path to the understanding, while those that cause an affection, take the path to the will.
The act of smelling while breathing, unites the light of understanding with the feeling of the will power. The sensation of knowing unites to the feeling of understanding by a spiritual rhythm. We are enlightened by the feeling of knowing, when it aligns with the esoteric rhythm by the quiet stillness of spiritual breathing.
Humankind is dual in its nature, both an inner and an outer self. The inner self is the soul represented by the breath. We cannot ever be the breath. It is the goodness as the feeling of the will, rising into the rational mind by love. The soul is always good, but the spirit is not as trustworthy. Yet, smelling while breathing, lifts the spirit until it perceives itself as the soul's outer covering, and then stops its warfare against its own flesh, and we become spiritual.
The outer covering of the soul is the spirit, represented by the breathing function. The spirit is truth becoming the feeling of understanding. Our perception is the result of the scientific or sensual-mind rising through the rational-mind to wisdom by the smelling function. The spirit can be both true or false, and thereby can change good into evil. In this way, the goodness of the soul would be profaned by the falsity of the spirit.
To be spiritual, is the ability to perceive the motions of good and truth. We want to perceive the breath and breathing as the states of good and truth as sensations in their heavenly spheres. It is the soul and spirit in their correspondence to the spiritual affections of warmth and light that interact and unite the two to reveal our true inner Self.
A spiritual sensation, is the warm affection of love from the soul, as a sense of knowing. Our proof is that it feels to radiate out as the light of faith, the extension of truth, as the spiritual affection from good. The affection of love, when in the will, is the perception from good. The affection of understanding from knowing, is the perception for truth.

Good and truth can be both good or bad, and true or false. We must be purified of our sense-of-separateness to perceive the spiritual difference. We are examining the sensations of the soul and the spirit as they relate to our physical senses, so we can learn to trust them to guide us.
To “hear,” signifies perception. Yet, spiritual perception is the result of connecting the external-self with the internal-self. Our perception is the result of the sounds we hear, both from outside, and as self-talk. We must learn to listen to the spiritual message behind sounds.
We can learn to perceive much more information from hearing sounds than just noise. I can tell if a crow is just squawking, or begging for food. Recently when the crows started squawking, I noticed they were facing my neighbor's balcony. I looked and realized he was now apartment composting, leaving the lid off for the smell to attract the birds. I discovered it, because hearing develops our spiritual perception, and when we examine an outer sound, we also learn to perceive its inner message.
As our outer hearing becomes more developed, we can also perceive the spiritual affection of a sound sensation. Similarly, with Divine Truth, when we read it we can also perceive an interior impression. A spiritual perception can be a silent shiver like a “voice.” This endeavor of goodness from the soul as a voice, radiates through the spirit as the light of faith, and communicates a message by a heavenly sensation.
We can perceive faith, because we can feel it. To you, faith might feel different from light, but because it is an affection, at its highest vibration, it is also an esoteric sensation called divine truth. When we align with the sensation of faith, even momentarily as a feeling, we develop the affection for truth. This is the love of knowing what is good, by a spiritual perception.
Think of hunches and instincts as psychic messages from the astral plane, the world of spirits, generally selfish, prone to falsity and misinformation. Spiritual perceptions that result from smelling while breathing are what we hear as intuition, described as the flow of the spiritual will-to-good, the celestial state of selflessness. The sensation is in everything as one collective sensation, and from within a state of selflessness, we perceive the celestial affection of goodness. The experience develops in time, as the affection for love.
To receive Divine Truth as intuition, is only possible if we can perceive what is spiritually good. We must be in the flow of love to stop mind-chatter long enough so that the sensual things of the will-to-bad, falsified by the ego, cannot rise into the rational level as an angry affection for hate.
For us to perceive spiritual truth we must hear it, and obey. This is something the ego cannot do, unless it loves what it perceives. Truth and the ego are at odds toward good, because one is giving, the other getting. Yet, the ego must be the one, to join them together, and we must feel it is our own effort. The ego must then get out of the way, to let the sensation of spiritual truth lead us intuitively into silence. This is to obey.
In addition, the affection of goodness is already in us as a memory, or from our study and training. Swedenborg says goodness, represented by the female, is called our “remains.” It is the memory of Conjugial Love, the highest frequency of love, implanted into women, and from them, it is passed to men, signified by truth. This is to receive goodness.
The esoteric sensation of universal love from goodness, is a self-less affection as a frequency moving toward what we admire. Selfless admiration is the feeling of the will-power moving as an endeavor toward good. It has been implanted in us all, through our mother's natural affinity to this frequency joined to her will-power. It connects us all by the sense of smell.
When I turned forty, my mother died, and I felt so bad, I thought I had lost her love. Yet, ten years later when I found the same frequency of love again, I realized it was from the memory of her. My mother was caring and affectionate, but a woman does not need to be lovable to transfer conjugial love to her offspring. It is her natural gift. One aspect of conjugial love is mutual-love, and the other aspect is universal love. Conjugial love corresponds to the umbilical cord that connects us all back through our mother to the formless and invisible One Mother of all humanity. This is our path of return.

The masculine principle brings us into this reality, but the feminine principle connects us back home to the source as conjugial love. Meditate on the spiritual symbolism of the umbilical cord, because it leads back to the female angels, the permanent feeling of security radiating from Conjugial Love.
Swedenborg says the female angels tasked with caring for the children correspond to the sense of smell, in the interiors of the nostrils. Those angels, accessed by smelling, are closer to the affection of conjugial love in a quiet state of mind. We are the children of conjugial love .
The act of smelling while breathing connect s us with those female angels that correspond to the highest affection of love . They represent the spiritual truth that quiets the internal sensuous spirits of the mind that leads to wisdom. Only from within the sphere of wisdom, by smelling while breathing, can we then suggest to our subconsciousness that the sensation from the vital- soul of our body get s raised into our consciousness as the frequency of love for others. This is the gift from the divine feminine.
We need the increased vitality created by the heart to transform the life-force as spiritual light, when it passes through the lungs to become an affection that lifts our mind to Cosmic Consciousness . The feeling of lust is purified of its selfishness by smelling while breathing, to combine the affection of the heart with the perception of the lungs.
This is a simple explanation of an abstract concept of how the body can act like an alchemical “ furnace” to bring about its own self- enlightenment. It is the work of a higher power moving through us. By distancing ourselves from it as it passes through us causes the affection of universal love to make us feel beloved.
Universal love is an effortless rhythm that we can all feel, when we are quiet while we breathe in and out. The act of conscious smelling while breathing develops the five physical senses into their internal spiritual counterparts. The outer action of breathing attunes us to the inner rhythm of the spiritual breath, and by the additional act of smelling, unites them, one with the other.

Smelling reveals a spiritual endeavor in the will, moving as an enlightened feeling, hidden in every breath. As our breathing aligns with the higher affections of Universal Love by smelling , it builds a rhythmic bridge to the sanctuary of Cosmic Consciousness within. As if by a fragrance, the rhythmic bridge to Cosmic Consciousness gets built by smelling that causes an esoteric experience that leaves behind an afterglow.
We are learning to tell the difference between physical, spiritual, and celestial sensations by developing our sense of discernment. The afterglow of the spiritual experience gets felt as a result of the discerning sense of the celestial touch. Smelling is like hearing to the inner angels that correspond to the nostrils. With hearing, we can always write it down, but with smelling, certain odors cannot be described. Fragrance must be experienced, just like music. The afterglow is its gift.
Smelling puts us on our spiritual Path of Return, the afterglow that leads to Cosmic Consciousness. Each knowing moment accumulates to build the sensation of our spiritual body. Our sense-of-knowing gets transformed into an expanding affection of love that produces the largess 6 3 9 sensation of self, the endeavor of the truthful 6 3 9 feeling of the spiritual body. It acts as a celestial magnet for the sensation of the Universal Soul to inhabit.
Once we experience the spiritual truth in those flashing knowing-moments, each “endeavor” gets transformed into an affection that brings greater happiness. At first, our heightened perception of happiness does not show in outward things, but as we practice smelling while breathing, an uplifting knowing develops that everything will work out well.
At this point, in humankind's evolution the affection of the soul is emerging as the driving force in everything we seek. The soul represents the horn of plenty, the nutritious basket of food signifying everything good. The “plenty” is the feeling of satisfaction and happiness from the affections of good and truth as Universal Love. It is represented by the esoteric feeling of love in everyone. Once we realize it, the Universe becomes the source of all of our plenty.

Humanity needs to recognize this available spiritual power within the expanding motion of mutual and universal love. We want to learn to distinguish it from the other lesser sensations. Spiritual “plenty” is not psychic-energy that can drain a person of their vital-energy, it is the largess feeling of Universal Love that vivifies the body. It lifts the ego to spiritual life, and we actually feel connected by an expanding love.
Spiritual power, or mutual-love moving in motion with the rhythm of universal love have available additional properties of the soul, harvested by raising the consciousness using the discriminating faculty of smelling. Discrimination is represented by a “sword,” a keen perception that reveals the distinctions between natural and spiritual things, the power to determine good and truth.
Yet, because the “plenty” is also a feeling of spiritual power, it's affection stirs the subconsciousness into creative activity. Because this “plenty-feeling” corresponds to the basket of food, it is also represented by everything fat. The divine, largess feeling of “Fatness” emotes from our body a confidence that now becomes our source of delight by taking pleasure in it.
The spiritual power of plenty can be used to change anything into good, even our own negative “sour grapes” attitude. When the creative feeling of good combines with the self-conscious power through truth it disposes a vice for a virtue. It unites the light with the radiant energies that subdues the subconscious inner reaction to past temptations. We are freeing ourselves from the lustful feeling still attached to our past.
Every act of temptation, every willful response, gets filed away in our mind as a lustful memory, which later distracts us from spiritual development. Just recalling something bad can stir anger or hatred. We are not erasing our memories, only the negative afterglow of lust that have become associated with certain ones, cutting away until we reach the center of the goodness of love.

We are calming the falsity of lust that can make us feel bad, even when nothing is wrong. Love does not make us feel bad; only the memories of lust can. Those bad memories are from our ego. It must let go of its identification with those bad memories, to become able to perceive the affection of universal love. The ego's identification with memories have become attached by the sensation of lust. Lust is a feeling, when combined by a judgment.
As an example of lust and bad judgment, my neighbor should probably be using online pornography to satisfy his lustful feelings. Instead, he is into voyeurism, using the guise of feeding the birds to hide his predatory nature. His sensation of lust has now created a veil that hides the truth, even from himself.
We all have this hereditary principle as a lusty nature. It is “the ambition of Adam,” the projecting aspect of love, not yet useful. Imagine being in love with someone who is not interested in you. You would feel unloved, and love would feel like lust, because it could never be satiated. The more you dwelled on the rejection, the more you would do things that would need to become hidden even from yourself. Eventually, even deny our predatory nature. This is how the feeling of lust creates falsity, and then, we no longer see the truth.
Truth is silent, and the sensation of love moving as lust, teaches us to hold our attention. Lust drives our predatory nature, by our ambitious affection for things. They get interwoven into the evil temptations of greed, and the need to dominate, and they create pride and Self-righteousness. Whether it is sex, overeating, or spending, the combats with the things that tempt us as we temper our lustful ambitions by the “sword” of discrimination, leads to a spiritual life.
When in love, there is no sense of time. Lust, works the same way, endless hours of drinking spent in search of love. Caught in temptations, lust creates the feeling of ambitious domination as the will-power reaching out in search of attention. As we get older, time appears to change, and pain, makes it drag on. When the desire for a long life, gets soured by boredom, alcohol, or loss, it extends into many hateful moments. Our predatory nature through an affection for the things we love, cause temptation combats that give us the time to become better humans.

Think of temptation-combats as the sensations that arise, when you do not immediately get something you want. Temptations cause the affection in us of being unloved, despite having everything. We need to examine the things that tempt us, and cause these sensations to understand why we do not yet feel loved. To feel loved, is not a sensation that can be gotten from owning things. Although, it is a sensation that can be experienced from not owning anything. So, everyone is equal when it comes to receiving the spiritual feeling that results in the sensation of being useful, of being loved.
Our temptations are our personal journey, because we suffer through them, until we have dominion over them. Yet, it does not matter how we succeed. If we are overweight, it does not matter if we take medication to lose that weight. The important thing is that we come to feel ourselves as having the perfect appearance despite how we look. We are not changing our outer appearance. We are not even changing how we feel about ourselves. By changing how we respond to others and to the things we love, we stop the combat within.
We must become more concerned with building a spiritual body if we want to feel that perfection in our physical-body. Yet, to feel our spiritual body, we must be able to imagine it as being perfect too. Perfection is an affection in our physical body once the combat is over. “Temptation” is lust that distracts us to look elsewhere for perfection, and we end up seeking it in things, food, and sex.
Seeking outwardly for love and happiness is the unhappy state of our ego, until it looks within for this sense of usefulness. It does not know that it can have both the heightened inner pleasure, and an outer good life. Our unhappiness is the only thing that blocks the perception of our perfect spiritual body. In that affection of the perfect body, is the happiness and joy when it radiates as Universal Love. We have to make our ego understand, to educate it, by love.
When the feeling of spiritual perfection, interacts with an affection of happiness it create s the third state of equilibrium. It is the balance point, when love is within. It leads to the affection of the spiritual body, the feeling of being loved. This balance point of love within is more exempt from harm. It is our goal now, because when love is within, it is reflected in the outer world. As an example think of the latest craze in Calisthenics, the one-arm hand-stand. When all the blood goes to the brain, it perhaps will be a new way to develop the glands of spiritual perception of equilibrium.
From a state of equilibrium, we are in balance, and act from good. This is the perfection from the soul-level of love. Yet, we are not yet perfect, but the more we can distance ourselves from thinking such nonsense, it flows through us, and we feel better about ourselves.
This spiritual perception of equilibrium is freedom from the selfish sensation of our own lust. We can still have sex and enjoy life, we are just not lusty in our interaction with others. It is freedom from our own false ego. It is freedom from pride. This must be accomplished first, otherwise we will tend to identify with the sensation of perfection as ourselves. We just need to stop identifying with the combat, so we can perceive the perfection as flowing toward us.
At this point in our spiritual-regeneration journey, we are being tested to let the influx of good flow through us increasing our pleasure, but not allow the ego to identify with it, as its own. Otherwise, the ego will further falsify the truth, because temptations-combats result from the ego's selfish and lusty desire to become one, to unite with whatever it loves.
In Numerology, the word sensation is 3 5 8, the same vibration as the words temptations 3 5 8, regenerate 3 5 8, and unity 3 5 8.
Think of the principle of vibration as extending from the lowest sensation of urination and excretion, rising to the affection of lust, and through the sense of touch causes our temptation combats that temper us. As the vibration of lust gets frustrated by delay, it causes the ego, through the combats to temptations to become regenerate, free from a selfish human-response. When the sensation of lust, is held at-bay by a promise of love to come, our attention is redirected to creativity. From there, we are on our way to the feeling of unity, the sensation of Universal Love, when we respond, with goodness.
